WHAT A WEEK! A 2ND SILVER MEDAL FOR OUR SAKE BLEND 001
After winning Silver on Monday at the London Sake Challenge, with our SAKE Blend 001 2018 Tanaka 1789 X Chartier, we woke up this morning with a 2nd Silver Medal, this time at the U.S. National Sake Appraisal! The U.S. National Sake Appraisal has been held annually since 2001 and is the oldest sake appraisal conducted outside Japan. Eleven judges—usually nine from Japan and two from the U.S.—evaluate approximately 500 sake entries over three days following traditional Japanese judging procedures. Top-scoring labels receive gold and silver awards, given to entries with the highest marks in each category. Following the Appraisal all entries are presented for public tasting at The Joy of Sake in New York and Honolulu.
The new Tanaka 1789 x Chartier sake project in Japan awarded the Silver Medal at the 2020 London Sake Challenge.
It is their first-ever competition for their first handcrafted luxury sake « Blend 001 – 2018 Junmai Nama Zume sake ».
